What age athletes does your club accept? We accept athletes ages 5-18. The athletes’ years
of birth will determine their competitive age division.

Does the club have tryouts? No. Our club is open to all who are willing to participate. That
being said, we are a serious club and we ask our Athletes to put forth a good effort and a good attitude.

What are the fees to join your club, and what do they cover? 2026 Spring / Summer Track Season
fees are $125 per month. Track training starts February 18, 2026. Membership is on a month to month basis
and the season will run through July and conclude with the AAU Junior Olympics. The fees include AAU
registration / insurance fees, cost for trainers / coaches, equipment, and now includes the entry fee to 1 track
meet per month. (Note uniform fees are separate).
Family discount – additional Athletes from the same household are eligible for special pricing. Please inquiry

Where is practice? Practices will be held either at Holmes High School. Location is subject to change.

When is practice? Practice schedule is subject to change, but will be as follows.
Mondays days and Wednesdays at 6:00pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:00am.

When are track meets? Meet schedule will be provided to the Club once available.

How do we register and join?
Use the “Registration” tab on this website’s main menu to register. Or email us at
Info@alamotrack.com (or on Facebook @Alamotrack or Twitter @Alamotrack) for
registration info. Please bring a Copy of your athlete’s birth certificate or ID when
registering. Follow us on social media @Alamotrack for updates.

What do I bring to practice? Bring a water container filled with water (we will attempt to have
water at all practices, but please bring your own just in case). Athletes should wear
comfortable running clothes and a good pair of running shoes. Track spikes are highly
recommended for track meets and for some workouts.

Do your coaches have to pass a background check, and are they qualified to coach? Yes, all
coaches are required to register with AAU and pass a background check before they are
allowed to participate in our club.

Head Coach Steve Barlow has been on the Club’s Board of Directors since 2023, and he took over the
Head Coach position in June 2024.  Coach Barlow came to us with over 30 years of coaching experience
at the high school level.  He himself was a National Qualifier as an Athlete at UTSA from 1982 to 1986.
He holds the UTSA school record for the 3000m Steeplechase, second all-time for the 10,000m and
fourth all-time for the 5000m.  He has coached numerous All-Americans, State Champions, and high-level
National and State qualifiers throughout his career.

Coach Emily Keiler-Green, Coach Adam Bernal, Coach Tara Wells, Coach Anthony Hemphill, and Coach
Melissa Hemphill are also on the staff.
